Peninah Cox Lewis
Coloma Friends Cemetery

We
found the gravestone of Peninah Lewis at the Coloma Cemetery. As you can see
by the first picture it was nearly buried. Keith dug the dirt from in front
of it and the engraving is in surprisingly good condition. Although an online
reading of the cemetery indictated there are several other marked Lewis graves,
we did not find them. Several stones were broken and piled together and several
others were in such poor condition we couldn't read them. There do seem to be
several plots near Peninah's with no stones.
